Amanda Sutherland
Artist | Actor | Creator
I’m a Tasmanian artist, actor and creator working across painting, photography, theatre and film. My creative practice is driven by curiosity, experimentation and the enjoyment of discovering something interesting and seeing where it takes me.
Whether you’re here to explore my portfolios, discover artwork available to purchase or get in touch about a creative opportunity, I hope you’ll enjoy looking around.

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, although it took me quite a while to start thinking of myself as an artist.
My creative journey has taken me through costume and prop making, theatre productions, acting, painting and photography. Along the way, I’ve discovered that I enjoy working across different disciplines rather than limiting myself to just one.
Sometimes an idea begins with something I’ve noticed in the landscape. Other times, it’s a character, an unusual object, a photograph or simply a question about what might happen if I try something different.
Not everything works out as expected, but experimenting and discovering new possibilities is part of what makes creating so enjoyable.
Let’s Connect
I’m always interested in opportunities to share my creative work, contribute to productions, exhibit artwork and collaborate with others. If you’d like to discuss a project, enquire about an artwork or simply find out more about what I do, I’d love to hear from you.
